Off Campus star Mika Abdalla has officially ended her engagement. The actor (she plays Allie on the hit hockey romance!) was engaged to Jake Short, who she starred alongside in the rom-com Sex Appeal.
Mika’s rep released a statement to Us Weekly saying, “Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together. They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.”
Jake and Mika first connected while prepping for Sex Appeal in 2021. Here they are chatting about their early days:
Mika is currently in the process of filming Off Campus season 2, which will focus on Allie and Dean’s love story.
She told Cosmopolitan, “I was afraid that I was gonna spill the beans on the situation. I knew before the first audition that we were kind of gonna dip into Allie’s story more than you would expect in season 1, so I had a little idea going into it. All I was thinking is, How are we going to do press? and What am I going to talk about? Because I literally can’t talk about anything that I was doing.”
Mika later added, “Dean and Allie has definitely been a really hard secret because it’s such a cool part of the season 1. People theorizing what season 2 might be or what season 3 might be and it’s like, Oh, you’re gonna get season 1 Dean and Allie as well.”
